Some of you might be wondering what it feels like when your transmission is failing. We have some tell-tale signs you should not be ignoring.

1)

Your transmission is slipping. Your engine might be whining. It might be changing gears without you doing anything. Your car might be struggling. The point is to get it checked out. Transmissions that slip are a sign that something is wrong. It is also a sign that your car might shut off completely.

2)

Your car might have trouble with speed. You might hear a loud noise when you do change gears. This is not a good sign. I had this happen to me 8 years ago. It was a horrible experience. I am lucky I made it to the mechanic before my car broke down on the road.

3)

Does your car sit there as you shift it into "drive?" You might be giving it gas and it does not move. This is a bad sign. You might get it to move, but your car is sending you a sign. It is telling you that it needs help. Get your car to a mechanic now.

4)

Does your car leak fluid? You need to check where you park your car. Do you see colors of red, bright red, or brown? You need to visit your mechanic right away. A mercedes transmission leak is not a good thing. Be thankful it is happening on your property. Not on the road.

5)

Does your light come on with the other signs mentioned? Sometimes the light blinks for no reason. It is kind of like your check engine light coming on. However, if the light comes on as your leak fluid or your gears shift there is a problem.
